Following arrest, Kure Beach official resigns

Following his arrest on drug charges last week, Kure Beach Commissioner Barry Nedler has decided to resign. Mayor Dean Lambeth says Nelder left his letter of resignation on the town clerk's desk over the weekend. The Kure Beach Mayor said Nelder did not give a reason for his resignation, but did say he appreciated the time he served the community. Nedler was arrested last week for possession of marijuana.
