Shooting suspect taken into custody

Police in the Port City took an eighteen year old man into custody this weekend after authorities connected him to a Friday afternoon shooting near the UNCW campus. Reginald Gagnier is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Forty two year old David Carroll was able to drive himself to the hospital for treatment after he was shot outside at the Seahawk Square Apartments. Authorities say the two men knew each other and had a dispute which led to the shooting.
